Answers To Sara's Questions

#1)What got you interested in decorating cakes?

ANSWER:
Well I never was really good at much as far as crafting and such. I've really always wanted a hobby. My grandma used to make cakes (she actually took the classes). When she moved to Florida she didn't want to take any of her supplies with her. She invested a lot because this stuff can be expensive. She kept it all in storage here in Indiana for a long time. She decided one day to ask me if I was interested in having it all. She said that she thought out of her granddaughters I'd be the one to appreciate it. (And Gram I do!) I just fell in love with it. I enjoy it a lot. I am very insecure about my cakes but I love doing them.

#2)In your profile you said that you're a Christian. Were you raised that way or did you commit as an adult?

ANSWER:
I was raised in church but rejected it heavily as a teen and in my early 20's. I started going to church again in 2002 after my grandpa passed away. I was touched deeply at that time of my life and had lots of questions about life and God. I didn't understand a lot of things about the Bible and having an actual relationship with God. When I was young I never really read the Bible. I just went to Sunday school and learned the absolute basics ( Noah, Abraham, Daniel and that Jesus loved me). I had no idea what the Bible actually said or why Jesus loved me. Now I know and I am thankful and I love him too. It's been something to adjust to at times, professing my faith. People think you're crazy or belong to a cult or that you're going to thump them with a Bible! LOL! I decided though that I love God more than I do people and so I don't care anymore what someone might think. I choose him.

#3) What church do you go to?

ANSWER:
We are currently attending LifeBridge Church. We are not members but we do attend weekly. They have a great program on Sunday mornings for children. We like it there.

#4 Are you going to have anymore children?

ANSWER:
We won't be having any more biological children. I have to give birth via C-section and that is more costly and harder to recover from. My husband had a Vasectomy after the birth of our youngest son. We do long for a daughter though. We've considered adoption and even gone so far as to request info from agencies. I would love to adopt a baby girl from China. It can be very expensive so that along with others issues is something we have to seriously consider.

Answers to Lisanne's Questions

1] Why did you name your blog "Think Pink"? Is pink your favorite color? Is it tough asserting your "girliness" among a housefull of boys? LOL! :)

ANSWER:
You are correct! I love pink! When I was younger I never ever did pink!! Or any bright color for that matter I always wore dark colors because I wanted to hide. I felt awkward and ugly in my teens so I didn't want anyone to notice me. As I get older I feel more girly and care a lot less what other people think (I still care just not as much). A few years ago I caught myself looking at pink items and I realized I really do like colors other than black or blue or brown! then I bought a pink top and that was it!! I was hooked! I don't however care for pink paint. When we bought our house the master was pink and I hated it! LOL!!! I don't usually have a tough time asserting my girliness but I do have to fight for free time!!! LOL!

2] What cake will you be making next? How will you decorate it?

ANSWER:
Hmmm.... well it could be a Mother's Day cake. I'm not sure though. I don't know how I would decorate that one, maybe flowers. Unless someone requests a birthday cake or something between now and then it could be just Mother's Day. If not I would have to say the next one in line would be Tyson's B-day cake. That one will be a Little People Construction cake. It will have the typical orange and black construction colors and the Fisher Price little people dump truck, bulldozer and fork truck. It will have crushed cookie's for dirt mounds.

3] What do you like most about being a mom?

ANSWER:
Its hard to narrow down just one most favorite thing. I would have to say my favorite thing is watching them grow. I love when they learn something new or discover something new. I love the excitment they feel, the smiles on their faces and they make me laugh. I often catch myself day dreaming about what they'll be like as men. I'm torn because I love them small and I don't want them to grow to fast but I long to know them as men. I guess the older I get the more I get to know my own parents in a totally different way and there's something sweet about it ( I think).

Answers To Jen's Questions

#1) Same one I asked Lisanne..... Where, if you could live absolutely anywhere, would you live. Like go to realtor.com and find the house you'd live in, money no object.

ANSWER:
This was really difficult! I'm not sure my dream house exists in reality. I adore the movie Cold Mountain and I LOVE the house and land of Black Cove Farm where Ada lived (yes I know most of the film was shot in Romania) but none the less you get the idea (if you've seen the movie). But this was the best I could do without searching for a month!LOL! This is actually two pics, imagine home and pond from the second pic combined with more of the Blue Ridge Mts and the lot from pic 1. If I could morph them into one pic I would so you could get a better idea. Is that specific enough Missy?

#2) What vacation would you take? Again find the plans/ place... you know, like a specific cruise, tour, attractions, etc. You never know, I might want to go...LOL.

ANSWER:
Ok this one was hard too! Tricky because as you know I love the Civil War Era and Historical Sites and I DON'T fly. Yeah I know I could have picked some exotic magical place like Hawaii or the Bahamas but I don't want to go bad enough to put up with the flight! So go ahead and insert hysterical or pathetic laugh here_______________________. Here it is: It would be a driving tour beginning in Southern IN with stops at the pictured locations in KY, NC and TN. Followed by another long drive to Florida to visit the Grandparents and the pictured attractions! So Jen does that sound like something you'd like to tag along for??
